About Ads in Ceros
Currently, Ceros does not support having traditional ad calls live within an experience. We have found that the ads don't render properly and run the risk of getting cut off depending on the size of the user's browser window and where they're viewing the content. That said, we do have the following options and recommendations should you require ads in your Ceros content:
Options for Implementing Ads with Ceros
Option 1: Embedding Ceros Experiences on a Page Where Ads Live
The workaround we recommend is breaking the Ceros experience up into a few instances and having the traditional ad calls live on the parent page where your Ceros content is embedded.

How to Implement:
- Publish your Ceros experience
- Copy one of the provided embed codes (Full Height or Scrolling)
- Embed the Ceros experience's embed code into your CMS/site where your ads live
Option 2: "Faking the ad"
Essentially "site serving" the ad as a static image/GIF, and adding the impression pixel and the click tag in an embedded object directly on the creative/ad.

How to Implement:
- Add a static ad image/GIF to your Ceros experience
- Behind the image, create an embedded object on your canvas
- With the embedded object selected, add your impression pixel code/script in the Enter embed code field found within the Design tab
- On the ad image, add an On Click -> Go to URL interaction, and add the URL destination you'd like your viewers to be taken to
Option 3: Using the Embed Object Feature
Testing 3rd party script ad tag leveraging the embedded object feature; in this scenario, we highly recommend testing well before launch day, and there may be limitations to how Ceros Support can investigate/provide solutions for embedded ads.
How to Implement:
- Create an embedded object on your canvas to house the ad script
- With the embedded object selected, add your ad code/script in the Enter embed code field found within the Design tab
Please note: As this method utilizes third-party code within an experience, it isn't possible to guarantee that all third-party codes will work when added to an experience.
Considerations for Pre-Roll Ads
As it relates to pre-roll ads, there are a few considerations that may impact the ability of the player to display the pre-roll ad itself:
- Ad Blockers: Many users have ad-blocking software or browser extensions installed, which can prevent ads from being displayed. Ad blockers typically filter out advertising content, including pre-roll ads, to enhance the browsing experience. As a result, the pre-roll ads may not appear when embedded on external pages viewed by users with ad blockers enabled.
- Platform Limitations: The video platform you use for embedding may have specific limitations or restrictions on displaying pre-roll ads on external pages. Some platforms may only allow ads to be displayed on specific domains or restrict ad serving to their own platform. Make sure to review the documentation or guidelines provided by the video platform to understand any limitations related to ad display on external pages.
- Advertiser Targeting: Advertisers often use targeting criteria such as geographic location, user demographics, or user interests to determine where their ads should be shown. If the targeting criteria specified by the advertisers are not met when the video is embedded on external pages, the pre-roll ads may not be triggered to display.
- Ad Inventory Availability: Pre-roll ads require available ad inventory to be served. If there is a lack of ad inventory at the time the video is embedded on external pages, pre-roll ads may not be displayed. Ad inventory availability can vary depending on factors such as the region, time of day, or demand from advertisers.
