Navigate Interactions in Flex experiences let users link to external URLs or internal pages and scroll to specific assets, groups, or sections within a project. These interactions create intuitive, dynamic pathways that enhance storytelling, encourage exploration, and maintain an engaging, connected user experience.
To create a Navigate Interaction in Flex:
Select the trigger asset, group, or section on the canvas or via the Layers Panel
Select Add interaction from the Contextual Toolbar, or navigate to the Modes toggle in the top-center of the Flex workspace and select the Animate mode
If you navigated to the Animate mode, select + in the "Interactions" section of the Actions Panel on the right side of the Flex workspace
Select a navigation interaction and customize its behavior:
Add link
Once selected, add the link destination for the trigger in the URL field, and choose to toggle on/off "Open in a new tab"
Go to Page
Once selected, click the Page dropdown menu to choose the experience page (the Next page, Previous page, or a specific page such as "Page 3") that the trigger will navigate the viewer to, and choose to toggle on/off "Open in a new tab"
Scroll to
Once selected, click Select a layer... next to "Section"; you'll enter targeting mode, allowing you to choose the target of the scroll interaction (which can be a section, group, or asset) from the canvas or Layers Panel
Next, you can customize the Flow of the scroll to be Instant or Smooth, and also set an optional Y-axis Offset (-1000 to 1000px) from the location of the target for the user to land at
Select Apply
Once applied, you can edit a Navigate Interaction on a trigger by selecting it in the Actions Panel while in Animate mode
A Navigate Interaction applied to an asset, group, or section can be removed in the "Interactions" section of the Inspector Panel by selecting "Remove interaction β" next to the interaction name. You can only apply one Navigate Interaction to a trigger.
