Using the Inspector Panel in Flex

The Inspector Panel dynamically displays design options and settings for the canvas or selected objects when in Design mode in Flex. The Inspector Panel also lets you change canvas dimensions and add new Responsive variants to your experience.

Canvas Settings

The default options (and when nothing on the canvas is selected) in the Inspector Panel pertain to the general layout of the canvas, including:

  • Page title

  • Change the canvas width and height

  • Add, remove, or edit Responsive Layouts

  • Toggle Fluid Layouts

  • Adjust layout settings (Padding and Gap values)

  • Change background fill color

Selected Objects Settings

The options in the Inspector Panel will dynamically change depending on the type of object selected on the canvas. Listed below are common settings:

  • Alignment (When Position type is set to Absolute)

    • To the canvas, when one object is selected

    • Between objects, when multiple objects are selected

  • Position & Size

    • Position type

    • Layers Panel order

    • Width

    • Height

    • Rotation

    • Pin to options (when Position type is set to Absolute)

  • Appearance

    • Blend modes

    • Opacity percentage

    • Hide Layer

  • Fill color (for shapes and text)

  • Background fill color (for groups)

  • Image editing

  • Text styles

  • Embed code (when using embedded content)

  • Layout (for groups)

    • Smart group toggle

    • Content Overflow toggle

  • Section Layout (When using Sections)

Essentially, the Inspector Panel is a vital component of Flex and is used during all aspects of creating content and setting up responsive layouts.
