Exclusive to MarkUp Pro, Enterprise, and Ceros suite users, the Pause New Comments feature enables MarkUp admins and owners to disable new comments on their MarkUps temporarily. This feature is designed to maintain focus during feedback review periods by ensuring that existing feedback is addressed before any new comments are added.
How to Pause New MarkUp Comments
Simply click the “Pause new comments” toggle switch in the upper-left corner of a MarkUp.
When paused, users will see indicators and receive notifications that new comments are temporarily disabled. This feature is accessible through MarkUp directly or via integrated apps like Slack and Microsoft Teams for added convenience.
Important Notes
Existing comments remain available for review and actioning; only the addition of new comments is paused when this feature is toggled. Importantly, while new comments are paused, replies to existing comments can still be made. This is intentional, allowing team members to continue discussions and provide clarifications on existing comments without needing to re-enable commenting. However, please note that guest users can also reply to existing comments during a pause.
When attempting to add a new comment during a pause, a notification will appear informing you that adding new comments is currently disabled.
This feature is managed by MarkUp admins and owners. Those users can pause and unpause comments as needed. This feature is available exclusively to MarkUp Pro users and above and is included for Ceros suite customers as part of their subscription.
Even if your MarkUp Pro trial has ended, you will have the ability to unpause comments. However, the ability to pause comments again will require a subscription to MarkUp Pro.
