About
The Ceros App Switcher allows users to easily switch between Ceros applications - Studio, Editor, MarkUp - for a streamlined workflow between instances. This guide will overview where to access the switcher in each application and a few important notes on role access.
Access from Studio
The App Switcher can be found in the upper right region of Studio between the Settings and Share panels. Selecting the App Switcher in Studio will allow a user to update the experience content in Editor (with the Edit option) or create a MarkUp of the experience to collect feedback (with the Comment option). Please Note: If a MarkUp was created in MarkUp prior by pasting the URL directly into MarkUp, the App Switcher will have no knowledge of that occurring and thus will be unable to direct you to that MarkUp with the App Switcher.
Access from Editor
The App Switcher can be found in the upper right region of Editor to the right of the Layout selection panel. Selecting the App Switcher in Editor will allow a user to review and edit the experience in Studio (with the Design option) or create a MarkUp of the experience to collect feedback (with the Comment option). Please Note: If a MarkUp was created in MarkUp prior by pasting the URL directly into MarkUp, the App Switcher will have no knowledge of that occurring and thus will be unable to direct you to that MarkUp with the App Switcher.
Access from Preview
The App Switcher can be found in the upper right region of Preview to the left of the replay animations function. In Preview, the App Switcher appears as three separate buttons - Design, which will open the experience in Studio, Edit, which opens the experience in Editor, and Comment, which will create a MarkUp of the experience. Please Note: If a MarkUp was created in MarkUp prior by pasting the URL directly into MarkUp, the App Switcher will have no knowledge of that occurring and thus will be unable to direct you to that MarkUp with the App Switcher.
Important Notes on Role Access
Due to varying role permissions, the App Switcher will work differently for the Editor, Reviewer, and Viewer roles in Ceros. Here's what you can expect when accessing the App Switcher as one of these roles:
Editor
As this role does not grant Studio access, when selecting the App Switcher in Editor or Preview as an Editor, you will only have the options to review and edit an experience in Editor (when viewing in Preview) or create/open a MarkUp of the experience.
Reviewer / Viewer
As these roles do not grant Studio or Editor access, when selecting the App Switcher in Preview as a Reviewer/Viewer, you will only have the option to create/open a MarkUp of the experience.
