How to Add and Edit Images in Flex

Flex allows you to upload images stored locally on your computer to an experience. Once an image is added to the canvas, you can use the Inspector Panel to make additional adjustments and edits.

Adding an Image to the Canvas

  1. Navigate to the Toolbar

  2. Select the Image Tool

  3. Select the target image from your computer's file management window

  4. Select Open to upload the image to your experience

Editing an Image

In its current build (beta), Flex allows you to alter an image's blend mode and opacity. To do so:

  1. Select the image on the canvas or in the Layers Panel

  2. Navigate to the Appearance section of the Inspector Panel while in Design Mode

  3. Make desired edits to the image

    1. Use the Blend Mode dropdown menu to select a new blend mode

      1. Blend mode refers to how the image blends with overlapping assets on the canvas

    2. Use the Opacity field to change the opacity percentage

All edits made to an image are automatically saved.

Adding Alt Text to an Image

Alt text is an accessibility feature that allows screen readers to describe images on the canvas. To add alt text to an image:

  1. Select the target image on the canvas or in the Layers Panel

  2. Navigate to the Accessibility section of the Inspector Panel while in Design mode

  3. Select the + icon (Add alt text)

  4. Add the alt text describing the image to the Alt Text field

Inputted alt text is automatically saved.
