Can I Mark Up a Password Protected Website?

MarkUp.io does support password-protected sites; however, they may behave differently depending on your authorization method. Please contact support if you’re having issues logging into your site.

You may also experience an issue marking up a site that requires a username and password to sign in. Even if you enter the correct username and password, your website may have security controls that prevent access from within an iFrame, such as the one used to display your site within MarkUp.io.

If your site normally doesn't require a username and password for access, but you are seeing this error, it could be because your site requires these credentials when it’s displayed within an iFrame.

If you experience an issue marking up a site that requires the user to sign in, having the MarkUp.io Chrome extension installed often takes care of some of these issues. If you have the extension installed but still need help signing in to your site to comment on it, please contact your dev team. They’ll be able to see if authentication can be disabled for your site temporarily while you work with your team to mark it up.
