Disable Publishing

The Disable Publishing feature allows account Owners to control who can publish experiences. By restricting publishing rights to certain users, teams can minimize mistakes, avoid accidental publications, and collaborate more securely, making content management simpler and enabling safe, efficient scaling across organizations.

Note: This feature is only available for Owner-level Ceros users. Click here to learn more about Roles & Permissions.

How to Disable Publishing for a Ceros user

  • Select ‘Team’ from the Ceros Admin menu

  • Locate the column for the user you want to disable publishing permissions for, then uncheck the box under ‘Publish access’

    • You will receive a notification – ‘Publish access updated’ – and the user will no longer be able to publish experiences

After disabling, publishing permissions can be re-enabled by checking the box under ‘Publish access’ for any user in your account.

Important Notes

  • This permission is granted at the account level for a user and cannot be assigned to individual folders.

    • Note: For the Editor role specifically, you can disable publishing for anyone with that role on a per-experience basis via the ‘Editor’ tab within Studio’s Settings Panel.

  • If a user’s role is changed in an account (ex, from Editor to Creator), their publishing permissions will be reset.

  • This option applies to the Creator and Editor roles. You cannot disable publishing for an Owner role, nor can you enable it for a Viewer or Reviewer role.
