Experiences created in Studio can be edited in Editor, allowing for scalable content creation across multiple teams or roles. Whether working directly in the same experience or a templatized version, Creators can determine what assets Editors can update.
Below is a high-level checklist for setting up Editor-friendly experiences.
Studio settings
Creators can determine the level of editing and publishing access for Editors.
Adjust Editor settings
Ensure Editor settings are toggled on in the Studio settings to grant editing access.
There are three levels of editing access:
All content is editable
Some content is editable. You’ll need to check or uncheck the "editable" option in the design tab for the desired assets.
No content is editable
Adjust Publishing settings for Editor
Enable or restrict publishing for Editor users.
Branding
Editors can only select brand elements that Creators have chosen.
Select the fonts that will be used in the experience
Add color swatches to the experience color palettes
Add any relevant brand assets and modules to the Asset Library
Add reusable assets like buttons, icons, etc., to the Asset Library.
Images
Use image masks to ensure image dimensions remain the same when an Editor updates or replaces images
This is only applicable if you want to keep the initial image dimensions
Ensure the image within the mask is marked as “Editable” in Studio’s Design Panel
Ensure images that you don’t want edited are unchecked as “Editable” in Studio’s Design Panel
Interactions
Editor’s interaction capabilities are more limited than Studio’s. So, ensure the interactive elements that you plan to have Editors update in your experience are within Editor’s capabilities.
Understand Editor interaction capabilities
Editors can only add or edit four types of interactions:Go to Page
Go to URL
Show
Hide
Avoid using Hotspots for editable interactions
Editors cannot edit Hotspots. If you want interactions to be editable, apply them directly to assets instead of using Hotspots.
